Printed by: Eugene Sturman From the Tamarind Lithography Workshop Collection Literature: Catalogue Raisonné, Tamarind Lithography Workshop, Inc., 1960-1970, no. 2841 Founded by artist June Wayne in Los Angeles in 1960, the Tamarind Lithography Workshop was an effort to revitalize the printmaking medium of lithography as fine art in the United States. Through artist residencies and fellowships, Tamarind trained a pool of master artisan-printers in the United States and offered visiting artists of diverse styles an opportunity to learn and work with the medium. (The program, now known as the Tamarind Institute, continues today at the University of New Mexico.)
