Lauren Napolitano | Sacred Sites II

Lauren's work is about celebrating the handmade and the imperfections that come along with it. Influenced by her mother’s Mexican heritage, she leans heavily on her cultural ancestors to create and gather inspiration. Using symmetry and traditional Mexican craft (tile, textile, wood carving) as her starting point, each line is made consciously. She achieves depth with lines and dots, taking these simple elements and creating a complex, patterned world. As a woman, she explores bold lines while adding a feminine mark by inventing delicate patterns and incorporating a sense of balance through each piece.
